🚌 Transport
From Marienplatz in central Munich, take U-Bahn line U6 to Fröttmaning station (about 20 minutes), then follow the signs on a 10–15 minute walk to the stadium. Trains run more frequently on matchdays. From Munich Airport, take the S1 or S8 airport train to Marienplatz and transfer to the U6 — around 50–60 minutes total.
🏨 Accommodation
Few hotels sit within walking distance of the stadium. Staying in the city center (near Marienplatz or the main station) and taking the U6 on matchday is far more practical. The closest option is Hotel Arena Stadt München, about a 20-minute walk from the stadium.
🎟️ Tickets — notoriously hard to get
Bayern Munich sells the large majority of seats to members first, so general sale is often effectively sold out. Your best real options as a visitor are the official Ticket Exchange (season-ticket holders resell unused seats at face value, with more supply appearing 2–10 days before kickoff) or home games against lower-table opponents. The club explicitly warns against unofficial resale sites like viagogo or StubHub — stick to official channels only.
🗺️ Tourism Tie-in
The FC Bayern Erlebniswelt (club museum) costs €12 for adults, or €19 combined with an arena-view ticket. A daily English-language guided tour (locker room, players’ tunnel included, €24) runs 10am–4pm. Before or after the match, pair it with a stroll through Marienplatz (Glockenspiel clock tower) and the English Garden (beer gardens, the Eisbach river surfing spot).
🎁 Club Perks
Kim Min-jae has played for Bayern Munich since 2023, under contract through June 2028. Jeong Woo-yeong, then of Incheon United, also briefly joined the club in 2018. Note that Son Heung-min and Cha Bum-kun never played for Bayern — they’re associated with Hamburger SV/Leverkusen and Frankfurt/Leverkusen respectively, a common point of confusion.
