On matchdays, a special tram line 8 runs from Augsburg Hauptbahnhof every 5 minutes starting 2 hours before kickoff, taking about 20 minutes (you can also board at Königsplatz in the city center). Your match ticket gives free rides on Augsburg’s transit authority (avg) buses and trams within zones 10 and 20 for 3 hours before and after the match.

There’s effectively no hotel within walking distance of the stadium — even some listed as “near the stadium” turn out to be over 6km away, so double-check. The standard approach is to stay near Augsburg’s main station or old town (e.g., ibis Augsburg Königsplatz) and take tram 8, about 20 minutes.
