The closest S-Bahn stations are Stellingen and Othmarschen (lines S3, S21), about a 15-minute walk from the stadium. On matchdays, direct shuttle buses run from both stations starting 2.5–3 hours before kickoff. Match ticket holders ride Hamburg’s entire public transit network (HVV) for free on matchday.

Few hotels sit within walking distance, so staying at a chain like Mercure Hotel Hamburg am Volkspark (about 2.1km from the stadium) or Motel One Hamburg-Altona (about 2.9km, roughly 25 minutes on foot) and using the free transit is the practical choice.

Hamburger SV won promotion back to the Bundesliga after seven years away, and all 17 home matches sold out in their first season back. Stick to official channels (hsv.de/tickets) only — tickets bought through Viagogo, StubHub, or similar sites are explicitly invalidated at the gate. If a match is sold out, check the official resale channel, the HSV-Ticketbörse. The Nordkurve standing section is sold to HSV fans only, so visitors should aim for seated tickets.
