🚌 Transport

From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof, take tram line 3, 7 or 15 to the “Sportforum” stop, right next to the stadium (€2.40 one-way, under 10 minutes). Your match ticket doubles as a valid MDV transit ticket from 4 hours before kickoff to 4 hours after the final whistle, so most fans ride free. From Leipzig/Halle Airport, the S5/S5X airport train reaches the main station in about 14–15 minutes.

🏨 Accommodation

Real walking-distance options include Hotel Arena City Leipzig Mitte (right next to the stadium, 10 minutes from Leipzig Zoo) and Apartmenthaus Feuerbach (about 5 minutes on foot). City-center hotels sit roughly 3.6km from the stadium and require the tram.

🎟️ Tickets — relatively easy

RB Leipzig is unusually accessible among Bundesliga clubs: you don’t need a paid membership to buy tickets for most matches — a free RBLogin account is enough to purchase through the official shop. Big fixtures against Bayern, Dortmund, or in the Champions League sell out fast, but for mid-table opponents this is arguably the most tourist-friendly club in the league.

🗺️ Tourism Tie-in

A roughly 60-minute stadium tour covers the museum, pitch-side, locker room, players’ tunnel, and a panoramic view from the top tier. Downtown, the Altes Rathaus (built 1556), St. Thomas Church (where Bach worked), the Bach Museum, and Augustusplatz (home to the Gewandhaus concert hall) are all within walking distance of each other.

🎁 Club Perks

Hwang Hee-chan transferred from Salzburg to RB Leipzig in July 2020, inheriting Timo Werner’s squad number, and scored plus assisted on his DFB-Pokal debut that season as the club reached the final (he has since moved on to Wolverhampton).

RB Leipzig was founded by Red Bull as a way around Germany’s “50+1 rule,” which has made the club deeply unpopular with traditional German fan culture. Attending a home game is perfectly safe, but if you plan to follow the club to an away fixture, expect friction with the host club’s supporters.
