Kashiwa come from behind to win, make it three straight

On August 21 at Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium, Kashiwa Reysol beat V-Varen Nagasaki 4-2 to record a third straight league victory. Yuki Kakita opened the scoring, Nagasaki replied through Tenmu Matsumoto and Yuto Iwasaki, but Yoshio Koizumi, Yusuke Segawa and Kenshin Yuba struck in the second half to secure the comeback. Attendance: 13,383.

FC Tokyo beat JEF Chiba 2-0 for first win of the season

On August 21 at MUFG Stadium, FC Tokyo claimed their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over JEF United Chiba. Takahiro Ko opened the scoring and Soma Anzai headed home from Teruhito Nakagawa’s cross late on to make it 2-0. Tokyo combined a steady defensive display with decisive finishing; attendance was 52,200.

J1 Matchweek 7 schedule confirmed for selected fixtures

On August 21, J.League announced adjustments to the 2026/27 J1 schedule following the AFC Champions League Elite draw. The update fixed kick-off dates for a number of Matchweek 7 fixtures, notably Kyoto Sanga vs Kashiwa Reysol and Vissel Kobe vs Kashima Antlers. Remaining schedule items will be released on August 25.

J.League to continue KONAMI monthly MVP award

On August 21, J.League confirmed that the “MEIJI YASUDA J.LEAGUE KONAMI Monthly MVP” will continue in the 2026/27 season. The league outlined the award framework — including a ¥300,000 prize for a J1 monthly winner — and said the program will highlight outstanding monthly performances across J1–J3 to boost engagement throughout the season.
