Kyoto Sanga FC are based in Kameoka, Kyoto (adjacent to Kyoto City), tracing their roots to a Kyoto Teacher’s University club team active in the 1950s–60s; they turned professional in 1993 and joined the J.League in 1996 as “Kyoto Purple Sanga.” Their home, Sanga Stadium by Kyocera, holds about 21,300.

It’s very close — about a 3-minute walk from JR Sagano Line’s Kameoka station, about 20 minutes from Kyoto station by rapid train or 30 minutes by local train. There’s parking, but it’s unavailable on matchdays, so public transport is recommended.
