The Boston Red Sox are an MLB American League (East Division) team based in Boston, Massachusetts. Their home, Fenway Park, opened in 1912 and is the oldest active ballpark in MLB, holding roughly 37,221–37,673 fans.
The 37-foot-tall left-field wall known as the “Green Monster” and the right-field foul pole “Pesky’s Pole” (where fans traditionally sign in marker) are the ballpark’s icons.

The full-crowd sing-along to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” before the bottom of the 8th is legendary (made even more iconic after Diamond himself performed it live following the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing), and there’s an unwritten rule of fans throwing back home run balls hit by Yankees players.

🚌 Getting Around
It’s a 7-minute walk from MBTA Green Line’s Kenmore station (B/C/D trains; the E branch doesn’t stop there). Lansdowne Street closes to vehicle traffic 3 hours before game time, so public transit is recommended.

Hotel Commonwealth is right next to Kenmore Square, and the Colonnade Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott Fenway are also within walking distance.

SeatGeek is the official resale marketplace. The Green Monster seats (only 274 of them) are released in stages through the season and sell out fast due to their popularity.
💡 Insider Tips
The 37-foot-2-inch left field wall, the “Green Monster,” is the ballpark’s signature feature. Bags must be under 12x12x6 inches (no need for clear plastic), and backpacks or multi-compartment bags aren’t allowed. The third-base side (sections 14–27) gets shade for day games.
