Club Overview

The Cincinnati Reds trace their origins to the Red Stockings, the world’s first professional baseball team, formed in 1869, and began operating in their current form in 1882. The club won its first World Series title in 1919, though the championship remains clouded by the opposing White Sox’s game-fixing “Black Sox Scandal.”

The Cincinnati Reds are an MLB National League (Central Division) team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their home, Great American Ball Park (opened 2003), holds 45,814 fans.

The Cincinnati Bell Connector (free streetcar)’s The Banks Station 1 stop is right in front of the ballpark. Visitors coming from Covington or Newport, Kentucky can take the free ($1) Southbank Shuttle trolley operated by TANK, running every 15 minutes starting 2 hours before the game.
