Cheer Culture

The “Tomahawk Chop” (a chopping motion with an accompanying chant, since 1991) is known as the team’s signature fan tradition, but it is also a contested one — Native American organizations have criticized it as dehumanizing (the team removed “Chop On” signage in 2019).
