The Arizona Diamondbacks completed a three-game sweep of the Dodgers with a 5-3 win on July 8. Shohei Ohtani hit his 22nd home run of the season, but it wasn’t enough, as Ildemaro Vargas delivered two hits including a go-ahead single in the sixth.
Cubs Beat Orioles 9-7 as Crow-Armstrong Hits 20-20
The Chicago Cubs defeated the Baltimore Orioles 9-7 on July 8, scoring five runs in the seventh inning highlighted by a three-run homer from Seiya Suzuki. Tyler O’Neill homered twice and Coby Mayo also went deep for Baltimore in the loss. Pete Crow-Armstrong became MLB’s first 20-homer, 20-stolen base player of the season in the game.
