Seoul’s 4th straight win puts title within reach

Having scored 17 goals over that stretch, Seoul now sit on 56 points, 16 clear of second-place Ulsan HD, and are closing in on their first K League 1 title in a decade — the club’s seventh overall. Despite the lopsided win, manager Kim Gi-dong pointedly reminded forward Jeong Seung-won to put the team first after the game, having noticed him try to finish a play alone late in the match rather than pass. Captain Kim Jin-su scored himself and led by example, prompting Kim to praise him for “bringing the team together.”

Anyang coaching rumor denied by Byun Sung-hwan
Amid speculation that FC Anyang manager Yoo Byung-hoon could step down, former Suwon Samsung boss Byun Sung-hwan — floated as a potential successor — flatly denied the rumor on August 31, saying “there has been no proposal or contact at all from the club.” Talk of Yoo’s departure spread after he skipped the official post-match press conference following Anyang’s 1-1 draw with Bucheon FC 1995 on August 30. Byun said he has deep affection for Anyang, the club where he once played, but believes “Yoo should keep leading the team for now.” Anyang’s ownership, led by club chairman Choi Dae-ho, is reportedly working to persuade Yoo to stay.
