Seoul Cruise as Final A Race Tightens

K League 1, paused for the Asian Games and international matches, resumes with Round 31 on October 9. Leaders FC Seoul have 62 points, 15 clear of second-place Ulsan HD (47), as they chase their first title in 10 years. The race for the Final A, the top-six group, is far tighter: only six points separate fourth-place Jeonbuk Hyundai (44) and ninth-place FC Anyang (38), with just three regular-round games left per team. Round 31 includes head-to-head clashes between Final A contenders, and the condition of players returning from national-team duty is seen as another variable.

Jeonbuk’s Song Bum-keun Shines for Korea

Jeonbuk Hyundai goalkeeper Song Bum-keun was the standout in Korea’s friendly against Venezuela, which ended 0-0 at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium on the 2nd. With Korea outshot 12 to 7, Song made four saves to keep a clean sheet and earned a FotMob rating of 7.9, the highest on either team. Korea’s lack of attacking build-up and defensive shakiness, however, remain problems for the national team. Jeonbuk return to league action with a trip to Daejeon on October 9.
