Miyagi sidelined for about 5½ months
Kawasaki Frontale announced on August 24 that forward Ten Miyagi sustained a left hamstring muscle tear and faces an estimated 5½-month recovery. Miyagi was injured in the August 15 match against Kyoto Sanga and underwent surgery on August 19. The club says it will work closely with medical staff on treatment and rehabilitation toward his return.

Fanpe joins Gamba on permanent deal
Gamba Osaka announced on August 24 the permanent signing of midfielder Fanpe, a 30-year-old Spaniard. Fanpe arrives from Málaga CF and said he aims to contribute both defensively and offensively and help create goals. The addition strengthens Gamba’s options in midfield.

Kakuta opens up about his off-pitch life
Yokohama F. Marinos’ Ryotaro Kakuta featured in a program announcement on August 24, revealing personal details from the club’s Miyazaki camp. Kakuta said he enjoys solo karaoke and helped showcase a Korean restaurant the whole squad visited. The program “Off the Pitch” is scheduled for August 25 at 21:54 JST on Nippon TV (Kanto broadcast).

U-15 J.League select to travel to Brazil
On August 24 the J.League announced its U-15 J.League Select will travel to Rio de Janeiro for the 26th Japan–Brazil Friendship Cup from August 29 to September 3. Eighteen players drawn from academies across 15 clubs (J1–J3) are scheduled to participate; this marks the selection’s 16th appearance. Matches will be held at the Zico Soccer Center.

Ogawa Koki set to join Machida
Nikkan Sports reported on August 24 that Japan international forward Koki Ogawa (29), currently with NEC Nijmegen in the Dutch top flight, is set to join FC Machida Zelvia. The report cites a reported annual salary around ¥400 million and notes Ogawa’s international record of 18 caps and 11 goals. An official announcement is expected soon.
