Gamba Osaka wins 4-3 thriller
August 8, 2026 (Round 1). At Panasonic Stadium Suita Gamba Osaka edged Urawa 4–3 in a high-scoring affair. Goals came from Issam Jebari and Welton among others, and Uenaka Asahi’s header provided the winner. Attendance was 34,855. It was a showcase of both sides’ attacking firepower.

Hiroshima keep a clean sheet in 3-0 win
August 8, 2026 (Round 1). At EDION Peace Wing Hiroshima Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated JEF Chiba 3–0. Goals from Nakano Shuto, Suzuki Akito and Kawamura Takumu sealed the win. Attendance was 27,624. An early opener and late strikes helped Hiroshima control the match.

Cerezo Osaka start with 2-1 win
August 8, 2026 (Round 1). At Yanmar Hanasaka Stadium Cerezo Osaka beat Fagiano Okayama 2–1. Goals by Sakuragawa Solomon and Yokoyama Yumeki secured the victory. Attendance was 21,843. Cerezo held off Okayama’s comeback to claim the opening win.

Kashiwa clinch 2-1 win via PK and chances

Shimizu earn 1-0 win at Toyota Stadium
