The Tennessee Titans were founded in 1960 as the Houston Oilers and won back-to-back AFL championships in 1960 and 1961. The franchise moved to Nashville in 1997 (playing as the Tennessee Oilers for the 1997 and 1998 seasons) before taking the name Titans in 1999. That same season, the club reached Super Bowl XXXIV but fell just one yard short, losing to finish as runner-up.
