Club Overview

The Chicago Bears were founded in 1919 in Decatur, Illinois, as the Decatur Staleys, moved to Chicago in 1921, and took the name Bears the following year. The Bears are one of only two NFL charter franchises still in existence today, and the club won Super Bowl XX following the 1985 season.

The Chicago Bears are an NFC North franchise based in Chicago, Illinois, one of the most storied franchises since the NFL’s early days, with a Super Bowl title in the 1985 season.

Located alongside the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium, it pairs well with sightseeing, and the South Loop area has a variety of restaurants.

Cheer Culture

“Monsters of the Midway” originally referred to the University of Chicago’s football team, but the nickname was adopted by the Bears after they won six championships between 1932 and 1946, and it has become synonymous with the franchise ever since.

💡 Insider Tips

🚌 Getting There

Getting off at CTA Red/Orange/Green Line’s Roosevelt Station and walking or transferring to bus 146 is common, but the 128 Soldier Field Express bus (nonstop from Ogilvie/Union stations) is more direct.

🏨 Where to Stay

Downtown Chicago offers CTA access to the stadium. The South Loop area is actually walkable — the Blackstone Hotel on Michigan Avenue near Grant Park (about a 20-minute walk) and the Congress Plaza Hotel (about a 1-mile walk) are good options.

🎟️ Tickets

Face-value tickets sell out often, so resale platforms like SeatGeek and StubHub are the realistic route — prices tend to be lower for games against weaker opponents or early in the season.

🗺️ Nearby Sightseeing

The Museum Campus — Field Museum (open daily 9am-5pm), Shedd Aquarium (from $38.95 for adults), and Adler Planetarium — are all within walking distance of each other, making a great half-day combo before or after the game.

🎁 Club Perks

No specific Korean connection has been confirmed.

💡 Insider Tips

Soldier Field is one of the smallest stadiums in the NFL (about 61,500 seats), which means the field feels relatively close no matter where you’re seated.
