Club Overview

V-Varen Nagasaki are based in Nagasaki City, owned by Japanet Holdings since 2017. Their new home, Peace Stadium, opened in October 2024 as part of the “Nagasaki Stadium City” mixed-use development on the former Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki Shipyard site, holding about 20,000.

Seating Guide

All four sides (Main, Back, and both goal-ends) bring the front row to within roughly 5 meters of the pitch — marketed as Japan’s first stadium with this closeness on every side. The home goal-end splits into lower-tier “Netsukyo (Passionate) V-Varen Seats” and upper-tier “V-Varen Seats”; the away end is the “Netsukyo Visitor Seats.”

Cheer Culture

The club name’s “V” stands for both the Portuguese “vitória” (victory) and Dutch “vrede” (peace), while “Varen” is Dutch for “to sail” — referencing Nagasaki’s history as a Portuguese/Dutch trading port. Since 2015, the club has worn special commemorative shirts around August 9 (the anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing) each year as part of an ongoing peace-message tradition. The mascot is Vivi-kun.
