Club Overview
The Philadelphia 76ers trace their roots to the Syracuse Nationals, founded in 1939, and took their current name when the franchise moved to Philadelphia in 1963. The name honors the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence. The club has won three championships in all — in Syracuse in 1955, in 1967 with Wilt Chamberlain, and in 1983 led by Julius Erving and Moses Malone.
The Philadelphia 76ers are an NBA Eastern Conference (Atlantic Division) team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their home, Xfinity Mobile Arena, holds 20,478 fans, with team colors (blue and red) reflecting 1776 and Philadelphia’s founding history.

Cheer Culture
The Liberty Bell ceremony is a real, verifiable tradition — the team bought a roughly 350-lb ceremonial bell in 2013, stations it by the player tunnel, and players touch it before games; after a win, a coach-selected player rings it.
