Overview

Gwangju FC is a K League 1 professional football club based in Gwangju. Their home stadium is Gwangju Football Stadium.

Seating Guide

Gwangju FC relocated its home ground from Gwangju Football Stadium to Gwangju World Cup Stadium (about 43,000 seats) in March 2025. A curved roof shaped after the ridgeline of Mudeungsan mountain covers 60% of the seats, while the remaining 40% is uncovered. As a multi-purpose venue with a running track, the pitch feels somewhat farther from the stands than at a football-only stadium.

Tickets

Tickets for this club are sold through Ticketlink. Use the button below to find and book your match.

This site is Korean-only — here's how to get through it

  1. On the ticket site, click your desired game date.
  2. Choose a seating zone — see the price table above for each zone.
  3. Sign up or log in (many sites accept your passport name in English).
  4. Pick your seat and complete the payment.
  5. Phone verification (SMS) may not accept foreign numbers — if so, most stadiums still sell same-day tickets at the box office, as long as the game isn't sold out.

Tip: in Chrome, right-click the page and choose "Translate to English" to read button labels instantly.

Food Nearby

Around the stadium you’ll typically find simple food stalls and food trucks, and a short walk will take you into Gwangju’s wider restaurant district. It’s a good idea to check a map app in advance for exact locations.

Cheering Culture

As with K League football generally, Gwangju FC’s fans behind the goal (the supporters’ end) lead drum-driven chants and flag-waving. First-time foreign visitors can easily join in just by following the rhythm.

💡 Insider Tips

🚌 Getting Around

The nearest subway station, Ssangchon, is still 2.5km from the stadium, so a bus is better than walking. Get off at the “World Cup Stadium” stop right in front of the stadium (buses Maewol06, 16, 26, Cheomdan20, Songam74) or the “Yeomju Gymnasium” stop (7-minute walk, bus Songam47). From Gwangju Airport, take bus Cheomdan20 (about 46 minutes); from Gwangju-Songjeong Station, take Line 1 plus bus Maewol16 (about 44 minutes).

💡 Insider Tips

Behind the flex seating on the N side, there’s an F&B stand called “Potato Island” (beer and snacks) and a small merchandise store.
