Overview

Gimcheon Sangmu is a K League 1 professional football club based in Gimcheon. Their home stadium is Gimcheon Stadium. Gimcheon Sangmu is run by the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and is made up of active-duty soldiers doing their military service as professional footballers, so the squad rotates regularly — a distinctive setup unique among K League clubs.

Seating Guide

The K League’s only military service club, made up of professional players completing their mandatory military duty — which means the squad changes dramatically every September when players are discharged. Home seating is in the W, E, and N sections, with the S section for away fans; there’s also a “Premier Food Zone” (limited to 40 seats per game, ₩50,000 for two) that includes food-truck items and drinks. The club’s hosting agreement with Gimcheon city expires in 2026, making this the final season the team will play under the name “Gimcheon Sangmu.”

Cheering Culture

As with K League football generally, Gimcheon Sangmu’s fans behind the goal (the supporters’ end) lead drum-driven chants and flag-waving. First-time foreign visitors can easily join in just by following the rhythm.

🚌 Getting Around

Gimcheon has no subway. Take the KTX or SRT to Gimcheon(Gumi) Station, then transfer to a local bus in the 15-series (routes passing through Gimcheon Station and the bus terminal). The stadium has free parking for 2,000 vehicles.

The official supporters’ group is called “Susa Bulpae,” and in summer the club actively creates a festival atmosphere with cheerleader “Shine Girls” performances, stamp events, and giveaways of cheering sticks.
