Overview

Daejeon Hana Citizen was founded in 1997 as Daejeon Citizen, backed by a consortium of local companies including Kyeryong Construction. After the Asian financial crisis bankrupted most of the consortium’s member companies, the club converted to a citizen-owned club in 2006; Hana Financial Group acquired it in 2020, giving it its current name.

The club’s home ground is Daejeon World Cup Stadium.

Daejeon Hana Citizen is a K League 1 professional football club based in Daejeon. Their home stadium is Daejeon World Cup Stadium.

Seating Guide

Korea’s first stadium with a semi-retractable roof, which when closed shields about 65% of the seats from rain and sun. As a football-only venue with no running track, the pitch feels close to the stands, and since 2024, skyboxes have also been added to the W stand, bringing the total to 6 private rooms (holding 4–16 people each).

Cheering Culture

Daejeon Hana Citizen’s supporters now operate under a unified group called ‘Daejeon Lovers,’ formed from the merger of ‘Purple Crew’ (named after the club’s signature color) and ‘Daejeonista’ (which favored a more open, grassroots cheering style). Signature anthems like ‘Daejeon Wins’ and ‘Victory, Daejeon’ play over the stadium speakers whenever the team scores.
