Club Overview

The Athletics (currently without a city name) are an MLB American League (West Division) team temporarily based in West Sacramento, California. Their home, Sutter Health Park, is MLB’s smallest ballpark at 14,014 capacity, serving as a temporary home for the 2025–2027 seasons before a planned move to a new Las Vegas ballpark in 2028.

Seating Guide

A grassy standing-room hill in right field, called “Home Run Hill,” is a notable feature (the ballpark was originally home to the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats).

💡 Insider Tips

🚌 Getting Around

Sutter Health Park isn’t in Oakland — it’s the former minor-league stadium in West Sacramento, being used temporarily for the 2025–2027 seasons before the team’s move to a new Las Vegas ballpark in 2028. Since it’s a former minor-league venue, public transit options are limited.

🎟️ Tickets

Unlike other clubs, the primary sales channel is the team’s own site (athletics.com), not Ticketmaster. 2025 season tickets sold out, and even single-game opening day tickets sold out within hours — demand has been very high.

💡 Insider Tips

Sacramento’s summer heat is a real factor — average daytime highs from June to September reach around 106°F, and the ballpark’s design tends to make it feel even hotter. Shade hits the third-base/left-field side first, while the first-base/right-field side gets strong afternoon sun, so seats behind home plate are recommended. Bags are limited to a single-compartment clear bag (12x6x12 in.) or a 5×8 in. clutch.
