Club Overview

The Kansas City Chiefs were founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans, winning an AFL championship before relocating to Kansas City in 1963 and taking the Chiefs name. The club won Super Bowl IV following the 1969 season, and in the Patrick Mahomes era added three more titles after the 2019, 2022, and 2023 seasons, for four championships overall.

The Kansas City Chiefs are an AFC West franchise based in Kansas City, Missouri, who have established themselves as the league’s recent dominant team with three Super Bowl titles (2019, 2022, 2023 seasons) under Patrick Mahomes.

With no public transit, the vast surface-parking lots instead fuel one of the NFL’s best tailgating cultures.

Cheer Culture

The fanbase known as “Chiefs Kingdom” set a Guinness World Record for loudest outdoor sports stadium in 2014, registering 142.2 decibels at Arrowhead Stadium — breaking the previous record set by Seattle Seahawks fans.

💡 Insider Tips

🚌 Getting There

There is no rail transit at all — the Truman Sports Complex sits in a vast surface-parking zone outside downtown, which is exactly what fuels one of the NFL’s best tailgating cultures (tents and grills allowed up to 8 feet behind each parking spot). The RideKC route 47 bus is the only public transit option.

🏨 Where to Stay

Staying downtown near the Power & Light District and driving or using rideshare is the norm (about a 15-minute drive to the stadium). Hotel Kansas City, in a converted 1920s building, and Loews Kansas City (0.27 miles from Power & Light, which runs a tailgate package with parking and food/beverage credit during the season) are popular picks.

🎟️ Tickets

Official tickets are available at chiefs.com/tickets.

🗺️ Nearby Sightseeing

Kansas City is famous for barbecue, making a local BBQ crawl a perfect pairing before or after the game. Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que (famous for operating out of a converted gas station, known for its Z-Man sandwich) and the original Arthur Bryant’s near 18th & Vine are local favorites.

🎁 Club Perks

No specific Korean connection has been confirmed.

💡 Insider Tips

Starting in 2026, the stadium name was simplified from “GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium” to just “Arrowhead Stadium.” If you plan to tailgate, arrive at least 4-5 hours early.
