Cheer Culture

On the night of March 28, 1984, owner Bob Irsay had Mayflower moving trucks sneak the franchise out of Baltimore in the dead of night and relocate to Indianapolis — one of the most dramatic team moves in NFL history. The Colts began their new chapter playing in the brand-new, then-empty Hoosier Dome.

💡 Insider Tips

🚌 Getting There

Downtown itself has around 70,000 parking spaces, making access easy. IndyGo buses (routes 8/10/31) also connect various parts of downtown.

🏨 Where to Stay

The JW Marriott Indianapolis connects directly to the stadium and convention center via an indoor skywalk (about 0.5 miles, a 10-minute walk), so weather is never an issue. TownePlace Suites by Marriott (5-minute walk) and the Omni Severin Hotel (6-minute walk) are also close by.

🎟️ Tickets

Official tickets are available at colts.com/tickets. Relative to the team’s popularity, the market is fairly small, so face-value tickets are comparatively easy to find year-round, unrelated to the May crowds of the Indianapolis 500.

🗺️ Nearby Sightseeing

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (home of the Indy 500, with a museum open year-round) is about a 20-minute drive from downtown — worth combining with your visit if you’re a motorsports fan.

🎁 Club Perks

No specific Korean connection has been confirmed.

💡 Insider Tips

Road closures can be significant, so plan to arrive at least 3 hours before kickoff. Lucas Oil Stadium has a retractable roof, so rain won’t affect the game experience.
