The Houston Texans were founded in 2002 as the NFL’s 32nd franchise. Because the city’s earlier team, the Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans), took its name and history with it when it relocated to Tennessee, the Texans are an entirely new franchise with no connection to that earlier club.
The Houston Texans are an AFC South franchise based in Houston, Texas, a relatively young franchise founded in 2002.

A downtown hotel along the METRORail Red Line is the most convenient choice. The Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston near Discovery Green and Minute Maid Park, or the Club Quarters Hotel Downtown in the shopping district, both reach the stadium in about 30 minutes via the Red Line.
Space Center Houston (NASA’s Johnson Space Center) is about a 30-minute drive away, with a real Mission Control room tour and space shuttle replica on display.

No specific Korean connection has been confirmed.
💡 Insider Tips
The stadium’s name reverted from NRG to Reliant Stadium in August 2026, so it’s worth checking both names when booking or searching.
