Club Overview

The Pittsburgh Steelers were founded in 1933 as the Pirates and were renamed the Steelers in 1940 in honor of the city’s steel industry. Under coach Chuck Noll, the club won four Super Bowls between the 1974 and 1979 seasons, part of a franchise-record six Super Bowl titles overall, the most in NFL history.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are an AFC North franchise based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of the NFL’s greatest franchises with six Super Bowl titles (tied for the most in league history).

🚌 Getting There

The free “T” light rail connects downtown and the North Shore. The Gateway Clipper riverboat shuttle (one-way $8) is also a good parking alternative. Uber/Lyft must use designated pickup zones such as the corner of Art Rooney Avenue and Reedsdale Street.

🏨 Where to Stay

Downtown Pittsburgh works well, with free travel to the stadium via the T light rail. The Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore, right in the neighborhood next to the stadium, is the closest option at about a 5-10 minute walk, and the Carnegie Science Center and Rivers Casino are also walkable.

🎁 Club Perks

Legend Hines Ward was born in Seoul and became the first Korean-American Super Bowl MVP (Super Bowl XL). The Steelers hold special significance for Korean fans.

💡 Insider Tips

Parking opens 5 hours before kickoff and ranges widely from $20-$60, so booking ahead is worthwhile. Tailgating is only allowed in surface lots, not in parking garages.
