Cheer Culture

During the 1967-68 promotion celebrations, fans brought a battery-powered radio to play and sing along to the Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ — and Villarreal has been known worldwide as ‘the Yellow Submarine’ ever since. That pride became permanent identity when the club switched to an all-yellow kit for the 2004-05 season.

🚌 Getting Around

Bus L1 from Plaza Mayor in the city center takes about 10 minutes to a stop roughly 200m from the stadium. By train, it’s about a 20-minute walk (1.5km) from Vila-real station, with regional trains from Valencia taking about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes.

🏨 Lodging

Walking-distance lodging is limited (Ceramic Rooms Boutique Hostel, about 10 minutes; Hello Villarreal Pension/Suites, under 15 minutes). Since Villarreal is a small town of around 50,000, many visitors stay in Castellón de la Plana, about 15km away.
