On August 12 at the Tokyo Dome, Hanshin defeated the Yomiuri Giants 5-1. The Giants’ only run came when Darvbeck hit a solo home run in the sixth—their 20th of the season—but Hanshin built an early lead with homers by Morishita and Sato in the third. Yakult routs Hiroshima 12-0; Yamano gets 9th

On August 12 at Jingu Stadium, the Tokyo Yakult Swallows beat Hiroshima 12-0. Yakult collected 18 hits as the offense erupted, while starter Yamano recorded the win for his ninth victory of the season. Hiroshima was held scoreless. DeNA beats Chunichi 6-3 as Maki and Encarnacion go deep

On August 12 at the Banterin Dome, Yokohama DeNA defeated Chunichi 6-3. Maki homered in the third and ninth—reaching his 20th—and Encarnacion hit homers in the fourth and sixth as DeNA’s power carried the day. Seibu rallies for five in 7th, tops Nippon-Ham 5-2

On August 12 at EsCon Field, the Saitama Seibu Lions rallied for five runs in the seventh inning to beat the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters 5-2. Kojima’s three-run homer in the seventh broke the game open, and Watanabe was credited with the win (5-6). Nippon-Ham homered via Kiyomiya and Mizuno but could not overcome the deficit. Rakuten wins 7-2 as MacCasker belts grand slam

On August 12 at Rakuten Mobile Park, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles beat Orix 7-2. In the sixth inning MacCasker hit a grand slam among a five-run frame that decided the game. SoftBank rolls to 10-4; Masaki and Kurihara go deep

On August 12 at Mizuho PayPay, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks beat the Chiba Lotte Marines 10-4. Masaki homered in the first inning (his 18th), Kurihara hit a solo homer in the fifth (32nd), and Makihara’s three-run shot in the sixth helped power the offense.
