Racing and brilliant goals draw
Racing secured an entertaining.2 – 2 draw with Villarreal at El Sardinero. Andrés Martín converted a penalty.(20′) and Sergio Martínez added a superb strike.(33′); Pape Gueye and Nicolas Pépé drew Villarreal level just before halftime.(44′, 45′). The result left Racing with encouraging signs on their return to the top flight.

Villarreal salvaged a point.2 – 2 in Santander thanks to strikes from Pape Gueye.(44′) and Nicolas Pépé.(45′) which drew the visitors level before halftime. The Yellow Submarine showed attacking response and leaves with a useful point at the start of the season.

Abel rescues Girona
Girona drew.1 – 1 with Leganés at Montilivi with a late equaliser. Naim gave the visitors the lead with a powerful long-range strike.(47′), but Abel Ruiz bundled in the leveller in the 90th minute after a loose ball. The debut start of 17-year-old Holmes Junior Zamorano was another positive for the hosts.
