On 15 July 2026 Athletic Club beat CD Derio 0-3 at La Florida (Portugalete) in a preseason friendly. The match, the first stop of the club’s Bizkaia tour to prepare for the campaign, provided minutes for the squad while allowing tactical checks and fitness work. Under new coach Edin Terzic the team sharpened match rhythm and will continue final preparations with further friendlies.
