The Phoenix Suns were founded in 1968 as an expansion team alongside the Milwaukee Bucks. The club has reached the NBA Finals three times — in 1976, 1993, and 2021 — but has come up short each time and has yet to win a championship.
The Phoenix Suns are an NBA Western Conference (Pacific Division) team based in Phoenix, Arizona. Their home, Mortgage Matchup Center, holds 17,071 fans.
Mascot “The Gorilla” genuinely began in 1980 as a random costumed fan-promotion appearance before becoming the official mascot, and is one of the NBA’s most popular mascots, especially famous for trampoline dunk shows.
