The Detroit Pistons are an NBA Eastern Conference (Central Division) team based in Detroit, Michigan. Their home, Little Caesars Arena, is built with the floor 40 feet below street level and holds 20,332 fans.
The “Bad Boys” identity from the 1987–89 championship-era Pistons (coined from a video title, popularized by Isiah Thomas riffing on a “Scarface” line) remains the team’s most-referenced legacy, revived in City Edition uniforms; fans still chant “Deee-troit Bas-ket-ball!” as a call-and-response at games.

💡 Insider Tips
🚌 Getting Around
The free QLine streetcar’s Sproat stop is right in front of the arena, and Detroit People Mover’s Grand Circus Park station is also nearby, connecting to the QLine.
🏨 Lodging
The Inn at 97 Winder (about 78 steps away) is closest, with Fort Pontchartrain Detroit (about 0.4km) also within walking distance.
🎟️ Tickets
Ticketmaster is the official marketplace. During the April 2025 playoffs, there was a geo-fencing case where tickets bought with cards billed outside Michigan/Ohio and a few other states were refunded — it’s unclear whether this applies during the regular season too, so international visitors should check ahead to be safe.
🗺️ City Pass Bundling
Detroit isn’t part of the official CityPASS program. The Motown Museum is within walking distance of the arena.
