Austin’s HR, Park Si-won’s First Win
The LG Twins beat the Doosan Bears 1-0 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium on September 3. Austin doubled in the first inning and then blasted his 36th home run of the season off Doosan ace Kwak Bin in the fourth, providing the game’s only run. Starter Park Si-won pitched five scoreless innings to record his first career win two years after his pro debut. Lee Woo-chan, Kim Jin-soo and Kim Young-woo followed him on the mound before Son Ju-young, appearing in all three games of the series, closed it out by inducing a groundout with runners on second and third in the ninth. The win extended LG’s winning streak to four games.

Ahn Hyun-min’s 5 RBIs Return KT to First
The KT Wiz beat the Hanwha Eagles 13-11 at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on September 3. Hanwha struck first with five runs in the top of the first, highlighted by a Roh Si-hwan RBI single and a three-run homer from Kim Tae-yeon, but KT clawed back as Ahn Hyun-min drove in five runs, including back-to-back home runs. Down 6-7 in the bottom of the fifth, pinch hitter Jang Jin-hyeok tripled to tie the game, and Choi Won-jun’s sacrifice fly put KT ahead for good. Oh Won-seok earned the win in relief. The victory put KT back in first place by half a game after Samsung’s loss to Lotte earlier that day, while Hanwha fell into last place, extending its losing streak to nine games since August 23.

Chu Jae-hyun’s 4 Hits Power Kiwoom Walk-off
The Kiwoom Heroes snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 walk-off win over the SSG Landers at Gocheok Sky Dome on September 3. Chu Jae-hyun went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, doubling in the game’s first run in the first inning and delivering the walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth. Seo Geon-chang reached base three times with a hit and two walks atop the order, while Kim Woong-bin added two hits and an RBI. It was a much-needed win for the last-place Heroes.

Han Dong-hee’s Two-Run Blast Ends Lotte’s Skid
The Lotte Giants snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 comeback win over the Samsung Lions at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on September 3. Samsung had taken the lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but Lotte tied it in the top of the sixth when Han Dong-hee launched a 105-meter, two-run homer over the right-field wall, his 17th of the season. In the eighth, Hwang Sung-bin tripled and Na Seung-yeop drove him in with a go-ahead single. Starter Jeremy Beasley earned his ninth win of the season, striking out nine over seven innings while allowing two runs. The loss halted Samsung’s bid for an eighth straight win.
