Kim Jae-yoon sets save record, now eyes 40

Samsung Lions closer Kim Jae-yoon, 36, recorded his 34th save of the season against SSG on the 24th, breaking his previous single-season best of 33 set in 2022. He also widened his lead over second-place Son Joo-young (LG, 30 saves) to four. It was his second straight multi-inning save after the NC game on the 22nd. I’ll just set it at 40,” he said. On the race with leader KT, three games ahead, he said that while the team is aiming for first, it must give its best one game at a time.
