Kim Do-yeong added a solo home run, his 35th of the season, to power the offense. The victory helped KIA close the gap on fourth-place Doosan in the standings race.

Moon Jeong-bin delivers birthday home run
The LG Twins defeated the SSG Landers 4-1 on August 15 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium. Celebrating his birthday, Moon Jeong-bin led off the bottom of the sixth inning and drove a fastball on a favorable count over the left-center field wall for a solo home run. The Jamsil crowd erupted moments after singing him a birthday song, as his homer answered right on cue. The win squared LG’s series with SSG and secured the club’s 58th victory of the season.

Emergency reliever shines as Samsung wins slugfest
The Samsung Lions defeated the Hanwha Eagles 11-6 on August 15 at Daegu Samsung Lions Park. Starter Yang Chang-seop was ejected in the first inning after a pitch hit Noh Si-hwan’s helmet, forcing Lee Seung-hyun into emergency relief duty. Lee allowed just two hits and one run over five and two-thirds innings while striking out seven to steady the team through the crisis. At the plate, Koo Ja-wook homered for a second straight day and drove in five runs on three hits, while Choi Hyoung-woo added a towering 132-meter three-run homer as Samsung prevailed in the high-scoring affair.

Ha Young-min returns from injury as starter
The Kiwoom Heroes defeated the KT Wiz 10-5 on August 15 at Suwon KT Wiz Park. Ha Young-min, who had been sidelined after feeling hip discomfort during his August 4 start against Lotte, returned to the mound as the starter and earned the win. Manager Seol Jong-jin said before the game that, barring any unexpected issues, he would throw a normal workload of 90 to 100 pitches, describing it as essentially a regular turn in the rotation after one extra rest. Ha’s return from injury gave the club a lift.
