Kia beat Samsung 7-2 in Gwangju on the 12th. In the 3rd inning, Kim Do-yeong drove a two-seam fastball from Samsung starter Boss over the fence for his 34th home run of the season, extending his league lead in homers. Starter James Naile earned his 8th win with seven innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. The win moved Kia up to 4th place, one game behind third-place LG.

Heo In-seo’s 10th-inning hit lifts Hanwha
Hanwha edged Doosan 4-3 in extra innings at Jamsil on the 12th. Starter Owen White pitched well, allowing two runs (one earned) over seven innings, but Doosan tied it dramatically in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras. With one out and a runner on third in the top of the 10th, 23-year-old catcher Heo In-seo delivered the go-ahead RBI hit. The win let Hanwha reclaim 4th place from Doosan and gain momentum in the chase for 5th.

Koo Chang-mo’s shutout snaps NC’s skid vs KT
NC blanked KT 3-0 in Changwon on the 12th. Starter Koo Chang-mo, who had struggled to a 10.38 ERA over his previous three outings against KT, bounced back with seven scoreless innings on 98 pitches, allowing just two hits to earn his 9th win. In the bottom of the 3rd, Park Si-won hit a 130-meter solo home run off So Hyeong-jun’s cutter to open the scoring, and finished 3-for-4 to lead the offense. The win snapped NC’s six-game losing streak against KT.

Seo Gun-chang’s 4 hits fuel Kiwoom’s rally
Kiwoom edged past LG 4-3 in a dramatic finish at Gocheok on the 12th. LG led 3-1 after Moon Jeong-bin’s two-run homer in the top of the 8th, but Kiwoom rallied in the bottom half with help from a fielding error and Seo Gun-chang’s fourth hit of the day, then took the lead for good when a strikeout wild pitch with the bases loaded let the runner on third score. Seo Gun-chang went 4-for-4, accounting for nearly half his team’s hits, sparking the comeback for last-place Kiwoom.

Rookie Kim Min-jun leads SSG past Lotte 8-1
SSG routed Lotte 8-1 in Incheon on the 12th. Rookie starter Kim Min-jun pitched six innings, allowing three hits (one homer), one walk and three strikeouts for one run, earning his 5th win of the season — the second-most wins by a rookie in his debut season in franchise history. After the game, the manager praised the young pitcher, saying, “He’s growing a little more with every outing, and I’m already looking forward to his next start.”
