KT Eye Title and 1 Million Fans on the 5th

The KT Wiz could celebrate twice when they host Lotte in Suwon on the 5th. With a magic number of 2, KT would clinch first place in the regular season if they beat Lotte and Samsung lose on the same day, as both results would count toward the number. An attendance milestone is also within reach. After 18,700 fans came through the gates on the 4th, KT’s season attendance stands at 985,572. If at least 14,428 fans attend on the 5th, the club will reach 1 million spectators in a season for the first time in its history. All eyes are on Suwon to see whether the title and the 1 million mark can arrive on the same day.

Lee Bum-ho Praises Jeon Sang-hyun’s Back-to-Back Effort

KIA Tigers manager Lee Bum-ho heaped praise on reliever Jeon Sang-hyun, who held down the mound on consecutive days. Jeon threw 35 pitches over two scoreless innings against LG on the 3rd, then returned on the 4th to retire the side in order in the bottom of the ninth and seal a 6-5 comeback win. Explaining his decision on the 3rd, Lee said, “Even after 25 pitches, his velocity on the first pitch was still around 142-143 km/h. So I figured he hadn’t lost his strength and stuck with him to the end.” He added, “Yesterday and again today, Jeon Sang-hyun did a big job for the team.” With KIA in the thick of the race for third, Jeon’s back-to-back outings proved decisive.
