Davidson blasts 100th KBO homer
Kiwoom foreign hitter Matt Davidson launched a solo home run over the left-field wall as the leadoff batter in the bottom of the 4th inning during a home game against NC on September 6 at Gocheok Sky Dome. The opponent was NC, the team Davidson debuted with in the KBO League back in 2024. The homer made him the 110th player in KBO history to reach 100 career home runs, while also marking his 11th season with a home run against every team in the league. It was his 18th homer of the season, and two more before the year ends would make him the 52nd player in KBO history to hit 20-plus homers in three straight seasons.

Kim Do-young goes 4-for-4, just misses record
KIA’s Kim Do-young fell short of breaking Lee Seung-yeop’s record for the youngest player to hit 40 home runs in a season (22 years, 11 months, 5 days) in a home game against KT on September 6, but he went 4-for-4 — tying his career high for hits in a game — to help lead his team to victory. He had not homered in six straight games since his 39th blast on August 26, facing intense pitching caution from opponents, yet posted a league-best .556 on-base percentage during that stretch. On this day he added a pushed single in the 4th, an intentional walk, and a single in the 8th for a five-times-on-base game. One more home run would make him the first domestic hitter to reach 40 in a season since 2018.

Identical twins pitch in same KBO game
In the September 6 game between SSG and Doosan at Incheon SSG Landers Field, identical twin brothers took the mound in the same game for the first time in KBO history. SSG’s Yoon Tae-hyun and Doosan’s Yoon Tae-ho, both 23, graduated from the same high school and entered pro baseball together in 2022. Yoon Tae-hyun pitched the 7th inning, allowing 3 runs over 2 innings, while his brother Yoon Tae-ho came on with the bases loaded and one out in the 8th, striking out a batter and allowing no runs over two-thirds of an inning. The game marked Yoon Tae-hyun’s first first-team appearance of the season. Baseball fans were delighted by the rare sight of twin brothers, in different uniforms, taking the mound in the same contest.

Samsung’s Furado ready to return from injury
Samsung foreign pitcher Ariel Furado has completed his preparations to return from a right shoulder injury. After suffering fascia damage and inflammation that sidelined him for roughly six weeks, Furado made his first rehab appearance in a Futures League game against Hanwha on August 14, then threw 3 innings (5 hits, 2 runs) against NC on August 19 and 4 innings (1 run) against KIA on August 24 as he built up his workload, before making his official return start against LG at Jamsil on September 6. Samsung manager Park Jin-man said, “He was quiet while off the roster, but now that he’s back at the ballpark his voice has gotten louder again,” expressing confidence in Furado’s condition. Before the injury, Furado had gone 5-1 with a 3.11 ERA over 17 games this season.
